Laura Kozak
In residence: 2016, 2017
Laura is interested in the history of natural way-finding. Hikes along the Sechelt Inlet became an opportunity to explore this way of knowing and navigating through landscapes. Without the aid of mapping technologies, hikes became less about the movement through space to a destination, and more the close observation of the patterns of drying puddles, the density of leaves on branches, and the ways trees grow stronger on the south side in order to maximize sunlight. Laura is interested in creating a small handbook to share this knowledge with others.
